About the project
DA ciência is the science outreach initiative of Prof. David Lima Azevedo (Full Professor, Institute of Physics, University of Brasilia). Here I share research results, findings and curiosities from science, together with open, reproducible tools for analysing the quality of higher education in Brazil.
All the material is free to use, built on official public data, with no licensing costs.

The sister project for stricto sensu graduate education: analysis of programme grades, output strata, patents and indicators by field and by programme, drawn from the public data of the CAPES national evaluation. Also free to use and reproducible.
New — version 5.3 (July 2026): three advances since v5.0. Patents: the technical output reported to CAPES is now in the app, for all three four-year cycles, with its own panel, rankings by programme and by faculty member, search and export. 2021-2024 catalogue: programmes created after 2020 are now recognised — until then they had no metadata and their output for the cycle was discarded. Institutional affiliation by cycle: each programme now appears under the institution the catalogue declares for each period, and legacy acronyms of a single university (FUFPI and UFPI, for instance) have been merged in the filter. In v5.0, output had already moved to being counted by distinct articles and by faculty-years. The details are under “Ajuda / Documentação” (Help / Documentation) and “O que mudou na v5.0” (What changed in v5.0), inside the application.

Dashboard of the on-site evaluations of UnB's undergraduate programmes, 2023 to 2025 cycles: 50 reports of INEP instrument 302, standardised on its 58 indicators, with a heat map, a sheet per programme and the appeals to CTAA (in Portuguese).
